Late in Atlanta

The flight was packed on the way to Atlanta.  Last of the holiday travelers, beginning of the year for real. The plane was late and people making connections were stressed.  They need to get back.  Time is short, patience shorter. The to-do list starts early am.  I once heard a TED talk from a time management expert.  She cited an example of how much time we actually have by the number of hours an unexpected crisis consumed for a busy executive who already felt pushed to the max.  To me, she was making the opposite point.  That we find the time for crisis, when we can't find the time for anything else.  I have no answers except to unplug the phone, computer and TV for periods of time.  Even if it's 5 minutes, it can give your system the time to spread a little. When we're stressed, we go to outside images to help us unwind, but they can create more stress in our systems.  But it does give your body and imagination a chance to breathe and re-fuel. To spread a little. Emilie Conrad, founder of Continuum used to say that compressed systems are closed loops.  That cells need the spread to be able to take in new information. Turning off for 5 minutes or 50 doesn't solve the problem of no-time. But maybe it can generate enough new information to spark a creative solution to where time bends for you.
